This is an installation/sculpture piece that was inspired by the above quote and the prompt titled, 'A Negative Self Portrait'. I created the pyramids to act as the structures and systems that form our being, and I arranged the yarn inside to represent myself and the puddle of which Douglas speaks. The yarn forms the sentence, "This is an interesting hole I find myself in", which starts from the puddle/ball of yarn/my identity. The yarn makes up the jumble that is the abstract representation of myself and also the language I use to express my current situation. The yarn, in a sense, resembles the pyramids in that it is made and manipulated by man, all the while being formed in a way so particular to myself. Ignore the black border and the paint splotches on the floor :)
